About This Piece:
This magical floral painting depicts variations of the pasque flower which is an anemone. These flowers grow wild throughout the state of South Dakota and its blooming is one of the first signs of spring in South Dakota. A member of the buttercup family, the pasque is a small, lavender flower. Other variations of the anemone are white and red.
The stems centers have been painted with a shimmer of metallic gold paint, a glamorous touch to this abstract and delightful artwork.
About the Artist:
Exhibited at galleries and selected for prestigious juried shows throughout the New York tri-state area, Schulman's works are also included in private collections internationally. She has been published in The New York Times, the cover of JAVMA and was recently a winner at Waterworks in Westchester. Schulman's uniqueness comes from her mastery of watercolor for portraits. The artist studied art and art history while at Dartmouth College. Schulman is represented by Tappan Z Art Gallery in Tarrytown, New York and by Art and Lease.
